Hi!
I'm new in HP-UX, so please a little help.
I have old hp mashine rp2400. I want to install v.11 or v.11.11 of HP-UX.
How I need to proceed?
1.How I can enter to web-console of this mashine from WIN-box, using cross-over cable? What configuration of Network/Properties of Windows I need to establish.
2.How /Where from/ I should install the clean version of hp-ux 11 or 11.11?
Thanks.

Solution
An RP2400 isn't terribly old, so rejoice.
I've found that the easiest way to install/use HPUX is to use an RS232 cable with a null modem to connect betwixt your Windows system and the RP2400. Connect it to the first serial port or the one marked "console". On your windows system, open Hyperterminal. The communication parameters are 9600, 8 bits, 1 stop bit, no parity. Use whichever serial port (A or B) that you connected the cable onto in your PC.
Next, insert the HPUX 11.00 or 11.11 CD in the disk tray. Turn on the HP system.
After a bunch of messages, you will be prompted to "Press any key within 10 seconds". Do so. You will be brought to a prompt.
Type in SEA (for search) and let it go through its paces. You will be then be prompted with a table that looks like this:
P0 Seagate CDRom
P1 Fujitsu 23432
P2 Fujitsu 23242
Whichever is the CDRom is the one you want. In this case, its P0. You would then type BO P0 (or Boot P0). When asked if you want to interact with the ISL, enter N. You will eventually be brought to a screen offering you to install the OS. Accept that. If you're familiar with installing unix, the prompts should all be fairly easy for you. If not, post your questions here and we'll talk you through it.

Re: clear installation
Hi,
1: http://docs.hp.com/en/rp24xx_basic_cable-en/ch01s04.html
2:
I do not know if you have access to a cdrom /dvdrom drive, tape drive, If you have a cdrom/dvd/tape that contains the data.
So if you could provide more info we can give better advice.
Regards,
Gideon
