Clone the hardisk (HP-unix9.0,Workwtation)

Since I have no HP-unix9.0 disk, I want to
made a full backup for my hardisk to prevent
my system from being damaged,
Could you tell me your guide on how to
clone it?Thanks for your warmly support.

Note:a)HP-UX9.0,PC model:HP9000, SCSI 50pins
b)No HP-unix installation CD

The command your after is called 'copyutil' It really is old and not used anymore. Considering you have 9.x you can't use the later tools. (You could always consider upgrading ....)

From what I recall you need to boot your system from a recovery CD and from the ISL prompt.
ISL> ode copyutil
From this you should get a different prompt.
ISL-CMD> copyutil
COPYUTIL> backup
You then pick the disk and the tape that you want to backup to.

Hi yqwen,

U can take a DD image of the HP-UX 9.0 disk..........that is exactly one to one copy of the blocks i suppose.....

U can do this only in the SINGLE USER mode....u can get the complete info of this in MAN pages......i.e. #man dd.....
