I need to setup 6 partitions on our SuperDome. It's been a while since I install from scratch :(
I plan to install one partition and apply the latest patches (GOLD June,2007 etc...) and then install MirrorDisk/UX to mirror vg00 (I have the codewords). Then after setting this I plan to use make_tape_recovery (with the interactive switch) in order to clone this server into the other 5.
My question is regarding MirroDisk on the cloned server. Will the mirrored VG00 be available on the cloned-server? Or will I have to install MirrorDisk in the cloned server and then perform the steps again to create mirror?
Thanks!
Jorge

SolutionWhen you make your Igntite recovery tape, your MirrorDisk/UX software will be a part of the archived image.
Thus when you use the tape archive, MirrorDisk/UX will be installed.
You will want to chose "Cloning to different H/W" in your Ignite session and say "no" to "Import Volume Groups".
There after, manually setup your mirrored vg00 volume groups --- a simple script that receives the disk device name (cXtYdZ) for the 'pvcreate' will allow you to quickly establish the mirrors on each clone.
Regards!

Re: Cloning Server & MirrorDisk/UX
I believe this is the same if you were to recover the same system. You would have to manually re-implement the mirrors as well.

Re: Cloning Server & MirrorDisk/UX
NO. Ignite/UX does NOT re-mirror a VG.
>>>Or will I have to install MirrorDisk in the cloned server
NO. MirrorDisk will be installed since it is on the Ignite tape.
>>>and then perform the steps again to create mirror?
YES.
