How can we find out that how long the package in a cluster is up and running on a certain node?

if there is no unexpected and abrupt shutdown of the servers in the cluster (like sudden loss of power or a crash dump and alike) you can collect this information form the package log file, generally located in

/etc/cmcluster//.log

go to the bottom of file and you will see a line like this :

########### Node "test1": Package start completed at Thu Jun 18 08:57:00 PDT 2009 ###########

this is the last startup of the package. After that point it is just simple math to calculate the package uptime

The process information does include the start time on the cluster package and the process the package starts.

ps can be used and parsed to provide that information.

Lets say if I am doing ps -ef, what process should I grep?

To processes.

grep the name of the package control script.

grep the name of the service that is started by the package control script. If the name of that process is oracle_db then that is what you grep for.
