Is it possible to make a cluster with one rp7420 (PA8800) and one rp5470 (PA8700)? Can ServiceGuard handle it?
Please advice.
Hasan

SolutionJust make sure they run the same OS and SG versions.
All documented in the Managing Serviceguard manuals available at:

Re: clustering rp7420 with rp5470
Shortly, Yes, Why not. Just it depend on each resorces and performance.
I mean as you know the main reason why we configure a cluster achive a high availability of your application, alright?
After all, you have to consider the system's capacity whether or not a node can afford to run the other node's the applications each other.

Re: clustering rp7420 with rp5470
yes you can - as long as both systems meet the hardware requirements of the applications running on the cluster

Re: clustering rp7420 with rp5470
Certainly it is possible to have cluster between rp7420 & rp5470. Ensure the OS and Service Gaurd version is of same type.
Please take care, you have sufficient hardware to build the Service Gaurd setup.
Thanks and regards

Re: clustering rp7420 with rp5470
A definite can do.
Must have:
Same OS
Similar Patch level with regards to SG.
Same version of SG.
