SolutionDon't forget [ since you always have Ignite installed on your servers :-)) ]:
# /opt/ignite/bin/print_manifest
...which comes with its own manpages:
# man 1M print_manifest
This will give you quite a bit of information on your particular configuation.
Regards!

Re: command to find cpu name/type
SAM is the best tool for this sort of info or...
# /usr/sbin/diag/contrib/pdcinfo -no_banner | grep -i "cpu module"
for CPU speed use...
# echo itick_per_usec/D | adb /stand/vmunix /dev/mem

Re: command to find cpu name/type
/usr/contrib/bin/machinfo
cstm won't provide info in this case!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: command to find cpu name/type
model is the universal command that works on both Itanium and PA-RISC.
Usually you get a speed statment from model, perhaps always, but you get enough information from the command to go online and determine what the actual CPU speed is.

Re: command to find cpu name/type
s. "model" is the good choice.
my system gives gives this output:
#model
9000/800/rp7410
go to hp 9000 servers page:
http://www.hp.com/products1/servers/HP9000_family_overview.html
search with rp7410 and u will get all the info u need.
HP 9000 server family brochure attached.

Re: command to find cpu name/type
For PA-RISC, cstm will tell you the CPU product (e.g. AB354A) and name (e.g. PA 8800 CPU Module 3.2). Now you can lookup the product number at http://partsurfer.hp.com and you will get for this example:
AB354A = HP svr rp34x0 1GHz PA-8800 dual core CPU
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: command to find cpu name/type
Note; this only works on PA systems. For IPF systems you need to run:
# echo "selclass qualifier system;info;wait;infolog" | cstm
(This should work, although there is an unrelated problem under investigation at the moment.)
