Communication with Smart-UPS
I used /dev/tty1p0 because ioscan -funC tty showed the following:
tty 0 8/0/0 mux2 CLAIMED INTERFACE MUX
/dev/diag/mux0 /dev/diag/tty0p7 /dev/tty0p1
/dev/diag/tty0p0 /dev/mux0 /dev/tty0p7
/dev/diag/tty0p1 /dev/tty0p0
tty 1 8/20/2 asio0 CLAIMED INTERFACE Built-in RS-232C
/dev/diag/mux1 /dev/mux1 /dev/tty1p0
I already had the ups daemon running, does it need to be re-run or a server reboot?
TIA, H

Re: Communication with Smart-UPS
Check the backside of your server. If there is no port for the ups, connect it to the mux and reconfigure it.
On the GSP board should be one port for the ups ( N-class ).

Re: Communication with Smart-UPS
Make sure that the UPS settings in SAM are NOT configured. those were set up when I hooked up my UPS, and it didn't configure until I went in and disabled UPS in SAM. The SAM version only works with the HP UPS (whatever that is).

Re: Communication with Smart-UPS
ttp1:234:off:/usr/sbin/getty -h tty0p1 9600
Back inittab up before you make any changes. Hope this helps.

Re: Communication with Smart-UPS
Attached are some notes that I jotted down when I installed Powerchute on my D370. His hostname is sagan. You'll see "sagan" referenced in the attachment. Good luck.
