Compatibility images Ignite UX
I have an Ignite server version B.3.7.95.
And I have some Images Ignite from an old Ignite server B.3.6.82. Do you know if I can use the old images with my new Ignite Server ? Do I have to change something or just update some parameters int the archive_cfg file ?
Best regards,
Christophe

Re: Compatibility images Ignite UX
I think both the client & the server must have the same version.

Re: Compatibility images Ignite UX
There are two ways that you can check for what version of Ignite/UX another
system is running. The first is the file /opt/ignite/Version which contains the
revision string for the Ignite version (e.g. B.3.7.95) which an ignite client
can use to ensure that it is running the same version as the server. The other
method to use is swlist which would get the revision string for each ignite
fileset to ensure that they're all the same and they're the same version as the
client.
The swlist list method is impossible to fool, but I suppose you may be able to play with the /opt/ignite/Version file. I am certain that this would be totally unsupported, however.

Re: Compatibility images Ignite UX
But in order to be able to do news image and backup the clients should have the same versions of ignite than the server.
