Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt

Cluster was halted and The configuration file corrupt error was recorded in syslog file.

cmclconfd[2362]: Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt.

After that neither cmruncl worked or cmviewcl worked. The cluster is now down.Is there any way of recovering the cluster.

Do you have a backup of that file? Or you could try copying it from another node.

Re: Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt

You should have your ascii version of the configuration file on at least one of the nodes. I would first run cmcheckconf on that file and then run a cmapplyconf.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt

cmcheckconf returns error

Warning: Unable to get configuration for cluster prodcl.
Error: Node NODEA is refusing Serviceguard communication.
Please make sure that the proper security access is configured on node
NODEA through either file-based access (pre-A.11.16 version) or role-based
access (version A.11.16 or higher) and/or that the host name lookup
on node NODEA resolves the IP address correctly.

Re: Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt

do you have a cmnodelist file under /etc/cmcluster on NodeA?

By any chance have you disabled the identd service on any (or all) of your nodes?

Re: Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt

as per the error do you have nodea defined in the /etc/hosts file on the node you are running the commands from? and is the ip correct?

Re: Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt

Dear,

NOTE: This is a stand alone cluster. No Fail over has been configured yet. Iam trying to run this cluster on the NODEA alone.

cmnodelist is not present here.

I want to bring this cluster up in this node first.

Re: Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt

Also, i see it says pre-a.11.16. What version are you running. If I remeber correctly a.11.15 had some weird issue that required a patch. it had to do with identd as mentioned above by Clay.

Re: Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt

The cluster was working fine until i changed my Secondary cluster lock device. after that everything was gone. i applied the config and it returned errors same as i posted earlier(errors for cmcheckconf)

Re: Configuration file $SGCONF/cmclconfig from local node is corrupt

any particular reason you specified a secondary lock vg and pv? it's usually not necessary.
