Configuring dial-in modem on HP-UX

Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up a modem for dial in access on serial 2. I got as far as being able to connect from a remote computer. The login message is garbled however:
CONNECT 9600 V42bis
B????????

I tried changing the bit/parity settings on the client but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,

Login prompt come from getty process , that you can configure in sam -> peripheral device
-> terminal and modem

add modem check at receive incoming call.

it will create an entry from getty
in /etc/inittab for you.

It is already configured for incoming calls. It is answering the call ok. The login message as defined in gettydefs is scrambled as in the above example however. I set the speed in sam as the 19200 and modem speeds already defined in gettydefs but it seems to make no difference.

If you need more, search in the Technical Knowledge database with search string modem.

Please try lower speed in sam to 9600.
