Configuring Oracle Active- Passive Clustering on HP - UX

hi,
Can somebody help me configure Oracle Active- Passive Clustering on HP - UX without using RAC or RACguard.
We have currently configured serviceguard on HP - UX. What is the next step & if any document is available for the same

If u don't want to use RAC then go to /opt/cmcluster/toolkit/oracle/ copy all the files into ur package dir then make necessary changes to these templates according to ur requirement.

So you are running normal single instance Oracle.
This gets set up as a package on your cluster, an dit the switches between nodes upon failures.
follow the manual Managing Serviceguard at:
http://docs.hp.com/en/ha
You should also purchase the Enterprise Cluster Master Toolkit (if you do not have it) and use the Oracle Toolkit to help set up the package

Shalom,

Oracle can cluster in no other way than active passive.

One of these links may contain sample package control scripts that you can use. They will require modification for your environment.

Quite unusual for me, the first link is to a news group. There are plenty of sample scripts in the newsgroups.

The only reason you'd need something like RAC is for active-active clustering.
