I have downloaded a zipped file which I gunziped. however, I cant get it to run.
the file type is odd for what Im used to seeing.
# file Hpux3600_base
Hpux3600_base: ASCII cpio archive
This is after I have gunzip'ed it. I cant get it to run. I am stumped...

where did you download it and what did the website say it was ?
Could it be a cpio file?

Thanks! it was a cpio file. It threw me b/c i had to gunzip it first and had no extension.
I was able to cpio and extract the data.
