Connecting DLT8000

Dear all,

I have conected 2 DLT8000 drive located in one enclosure to hp 9000 (hp-ux 11.00). When I am trying to connect different enclosure with same kind DLTs instead of first one OS says that there are not any DLTs.

Any ideas will be appreciated

Hi Givi

Have you checked the SCSI IDs on the drives to make sure they are unique?

Re: Connecting DLT8000

Can you see them with ioscan?
Have you included stape in you kernel?

Re: Connecting DLT8000

DLTs have assigned unique IDs, all driveres are in the kernel. I checked them from SAM (wich actually uses ioscan as I know)there are no entries.

Re: Connecting DLT8000

What kind of enclosure. HP has used a few different SCSI atandards on their servers and storage, and some connectors look identical.
It could just be a scsi device mis match.

Re: Connecting DLT8000

When you add the device run insf to create a new device file for it. Check the man page for the particular options.
