Re: Connection reset by peer

It looks like you lost network connectivity. Can you get to the other system now? Try ping and see what you get.

Yes, it is no problem to reach the system.

This ONLY happen during the filesystem backup at night but not always. Sometimes all filesystems are correctly backed up but most often one or two filesystems fails.

Re: Connection reset by peer

Perhaps a connection that doesn't handle the high traffic loads of backup very well?

Can you check the speed and duplex settings on both the NICs involved and on the switch ports. If you're running 100Base/T, the NICs and the switch ports should be manually set to 100FD - no auto-negotiate. A mismatch might account for this type of behaviour.

Re: Connection reset by peer

Hi there.
How did you set the network load ?
If it is set to HIGH, try to set it to MEDIUM or if necessary to LOW.
That might set the timeout a bit longer.
Ii this is a backup of a different server than the one, where the cell server is installed,
you should setup a separate network connection for backup and admin usage. If you do a backup through the normal data net, the load on the network will increase skyhigh.
