I am having a problem with my console connection. I am using telnet through a serial connection to the console connector. While I was scrolling through a directory listing I interupted it by hitting a CTRL-C. Now, I can no longer communicate with the unix box through the console. I can ftp and the server is still working but whenever I connect to the console, it doesn't seem to accept my keystrokes. Before I go and re-boot the server, I was wondering if there was a way of resetting the console connection?

						Hi David,
Try resetting the Console by removing power. Also check your terminal settings, check the "f4" key too.

Shiju

						Hi David,
If you can login to the system from some other connection you can kill any process running on the console and this should restart the console login.
Hope this helps.
Regds
P.S. :How do you do a telnet from a serial connection to the console connector ?.

						Hi,
Again, list the processes running on the console using:
# ps -aef | grep console
Kill any hung processes using 'kill -9'
HTH,
Shiju
