Console login

Hi,

After booting the system, "console login:" prompt will come. In that currently my server showing like "oradb console login:".

Oradb is the hostname.

After changing the hostname of this server to dbpower, still console login showing "oradb console login".

Where I have to modify this changes?

Please suggest.

Hi,

have a look into the file

/etc/gettydefs

perhaps somebody was changing this file.

Hi,
how did you change your hostname ?
Did you use "set_parms hostname" ?
This should have taken care of all the files.

Like Pete said all you had to do is a "set_parms hostname".

Shalom,

You also need to stop/start networking.

Its probably easier to just restart the box though.
