Re: Console

Is this the MP console login? Try Admin Admin.

Re: Console

Any user id and password on your system.

There is no specific id that is required when logging on to a system via the console.

The problem "could" arise from special characters in your passwords. Certain characters can cause somewhat strange behavior on terminals. See the "WARNINGS" section of the passwd man page for more info.

Re: Console

If you are logging into the OS, which is what your post looks like. Then any valid OS login with valid password, e.g. root, user1, etc...

If you are attempting to log into the MP. Then 1) you need to connect to the MP, if you are indeed logged into the MP console and getting the above prompts which again look like OS login prompt then you are already logged into the MP Conlsole.

A at the above prompt would prove if you are truely connected to the MP Console.

BTW, what model server ?

A typical RP server MP login looks like this.
Service Processor login:

A typical RX server MP login looks like this.
MP login:

I do not think you are connected to the MP Console or at least are looking at a simple OS login prompt.

Re: Console

Hi ,

I feel you are trying to do operating system login only using MP console then please go ahead with unix account/password and it fails then the problem may be with keyboard specail characters or /etc/securetty file.

Thanks,

Re: Console

MP/GSP login would look like this:

Service Processor login:
Service Processor password:

or

MP login: Admin
MP password:

So you see a hp-ux login prompt, because you see also the prior **console** output.

Try with "root" or any other valid login.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
