Yes, tsconvert -r is the command you want.

By the way, tsconvert is in /usr/lbin, a place you might not ordinarily look or have in your $PATH.

There is absolutely no need to reinstall the system. /usr/lbin/tsconvert -r
is enough.

Re: convert 11i 'trusted system' back to 'normal

thanks for the responses.. this is great.. i have one more question.. i ran the tsconvert and now i have everything in /etc/passwd i want to use this box in conjunction with microsoft services for unix pam module which wants an /etc/shadow file

i understand that since june 2002 11i , the pwconv command will generate shadow files now. I have 11i sept 2001, i am wondering is there any patch or update i can install which will give me that functionality or do i have to upgrade.

If i have to upgrade, can i run the new dec 2003 11i overtop the OS or do i have to rebuild from scratch?

thanks in advance

Re: convert 11i 'trusted system' back to 'normal

You can get the bundle to enable the shadow file here:

http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=ShadowPassword

It should include all needed patches.
