Re: copyright information after telnet

Hi,

It's the file /etc/copyright called through /etc/profile (or csh.login) file. I am not sure if you can delete that file. It's a copyright of HP. Either you can null this file or take out /etc/copyright from the files /etc/profile and /etc/csh.login.

Re: copyright information after telnet

No need to zero the file out.

It is as easy as adding a remark line to the /etc/profile:
vi /etc/profile
# This is to meet legal requirements...
cat /etc/copyright

Change the line to read:
# This is to meet legal requirements...
# cat /etc/copyright

Re: copyright information after telnet

Or, mv /etc/copyright /etc/copyright.old

Then create your own...

cat "Welcome to my system" > /etc/copyright

or whatever you want...

Re: copyright information after telnet

You could also stop using telnet and use Secure Shell. For some reason that copyright information is not displayed though the environment is loaded.
