Re: Couldn't stat physical volume

I'd run xstm mstm or cstm and test the physical volume, make sure its there.

If this is a new disk, insf -e might make it become available and visible to the lvm tools.

This appears to me to be one of two things:
1) Disk went bad.
2) You added a new disk and are wondering why you can't use pvcreate on it.

Doesn't matter whether its local or san. insf -e will make a new one visible, as will a system boot.

More details on process can allow me to be more precise.

Re: Couldn't stat physical volume

Hi,

What do you see with
ioscan -fnCdisk| grep c15t14
and
diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c15t14d0 ?
Could you please attach the output.

Re: Couldn't stat physical volume

Does the disk really existi.

Is the disk listed in the ioscan output.

If this is an EMC disk, check and see. IT could be the gatekeeper device and hence you cannot do a pcvrate on it.

Hope this helps.

Re: Couldn't stat physical volume

U can see the device no issues once the disk is added and device files are created.
We want to current status of the device so check the ioscan output and diskinfo ...

This both is more enough to know the status.
If u are using any disk arrays check status LEDS over there...

FYI ...
insf -C only list devices ...it doesn't recreate.
