cpio

The vg00 root disk name A was crashed. I was installed the new root disk named B on the unix server.
How to restore the A data? Does cpio support this? How to do this? Thankx.

Hi,
Do you have any backup of the root disk ? If the disk has crashed you need a backup of the disk to restore anything to the new disk. It is possible to use cpio for backup/restores of a root disk but rather unconvinient. Ingnite is a much better tool for that.
