CPU Utilization high for diagmond process on 11i

Hi,
I have just commissioned an rp5430 Server using HP-UX 11i and have noticed that the process 'diagmond' is taking up to 8% of an avialable CPU. I think this is quite high and noticed that a patch PHSS_2007 exists to deal with the problem for HP-UX 11.0. Does such a patch exist for 11i or is the CPU utilization of this process normal even considering that 'stm' is not being used on the server at the time.

I've got a RP5450 with 2 processors that doesn't show anywhere near that kind of CPU utilization for diagmond. Patch level is March 2002 Support Plus.

Thanks for your replies. I examined the patch PHSS_28074 and it does not appear to be directly related to my issue, does it inadvertently fix the problem? Also, while I have the HP-UX 11.11 Support Tools Bundle, Sep 2002; I don't have any Support Plus patches installed. I do have the 'Gold Applications Patchs for HP-UX 11i, June 2002' and 'Gold Base Patches for HP-UX 11i, June 2002' installed.

Hi,

Do you have EMS installed in your system? Are you getting any message that something is not working? If EMS is not installed in your system better install EMS and see whether everything is running fine or not. Some times UPS Monitoring daemon upsmond doesn't work properly and it is giving the same type of problem. Better you install EMS and have a look. By the way, EMS is available free from HP Website.

Hi,
The patch PHSS_27810 appears to relate directly to the problem of the 'diagmond' process an it's CPU usage. I will apply this to a test server and see if it resolves the problem.
