Re: ITRC Forum Statistics for November 2002
Great job on the stats -- you are a terrific contributor to this community. I appreciate you separating your stats out, as I think they need to be more visible from a high level.
I will post a link to your threads on the forums home page left side bar under "forums updates".
Thanks again!
Dan
PS: Sorry it will cost you points, but you more than make up for them elsewhere! :)

Re: ITRC Forum Statistics for November 2002
Just because you won't actually be posting the stats themselves in Dan's thread doesn't mean you can't post a little "announcement" there and get your points that way.

Re: ITRC Forum Statistics for November 2002
Apologies for the loss of connectivity to https://www.beepz.com for those few days, in particularly to Merijn.
It was because the ISP likes to switch subnets every few months. So far, it appears to be occurring extremely infrequently. I would guess that the next change would be at least 6 to 9 months down the road but I don't control the ISP and there is no SLA.
After I detected the change, it takes another few days for the DNS server to be updated and the DNS caches of DNS servers across the world to be updated accordingly.
The reason why HTTP is not supported since Aug 2001 is because of ISP's bid to eliminate codered and nimda compromises and attacks by blocking off inbound HTTP traffic altogether.
There may be some change of regulations at my workplace. I might soon be able to set up a personal webserver / website legitimately. That would mean room for bigger bandwidth and faster access on more powerful machines. Until then, please bear with any existing limitations.
Should you encounter any issues at all in accessing https://www.beepz.com in future, please feel free to immediately drop me an email at steven_simkl@yahoo.com.
Been extremely busy over the last few months (launches, talks and projects etc.) so I won't be accessing the forum as frequently to watch for feedback. Email will be the best channel for any feedback for me.
Thanks. Regards.

Re: ITRC Forum Statistics for November 2002
A couple of months ago, when I hit the 1000 point level, my boss made a big deal out of it and showed management that I was at such and such a place inthe forums out of some many people, and explained what the forums were all about. This really helped this year when they were looking at having the annual raises less than normal. I ended up with my usual raise, where a lot of people didn't...
Thanks!

You know me - I hate to complain, but . . . . you posted to the November thread! Last time I checked, this is December.

It's all Dan's fault, he didn't update the home-page link :-PPPP

Re: ITRC Forum Statistics for November 2002
nice stats - as always (I am really happy that you took over all that work).
This sandy part of mine will stop answering questions (and hence stop getting points) somewhen below the "green-leafs-mark", to stay in here in my comfy pyramid, with all those oriental sweets, as I don't like the greek "Helva" that much (Dan, if you introduce an indian turban, that would be different, then - I just love the west-bengal sweets!!!) - the greek wine is great, though...
Cheerio to all of you havening earned at least one point,
Wodisch
PS: To "those" others - you are permitted to answer, too, don't be afraid, we won't bite (except you are made from chocolate, maybe)
