Create ISO image on Windows to be readable on HPUX?

Hi!
I have 2 DVDs:
1) HPUX OS 11i v3 DVD1
2) HPUX OS 11i v3 DVD2

I want to create ISO from DVD's.
What is the right way to create them on Windows OS and which software would be appropriate to be readable. I am using ISOIMAGE-ENH to mount ISO's on HPUX.

I've tried with several burning software but if i want to make_depots (Ignite-UX) with mounted ISO images i get: swcopy error ... so i am guessing that is something wrong with ISO images ...

Any references?

Ignite does not work with ISO images at all.

To have Ignite depots, those need to be in depot format and sit on NFS shares.

HPVM will boot and let you build a system and read iso images direct from an ISO image, its treated like a DVD.

What windows DVD software are you using and how did you copy the image to HP-UX?

You should be able to use ISOIMAGE-ENH to mount the ISO and then use swcopy to copy the depot.
Have you tried browsing your mounted ISO image? What files do you see?

I assume that Sergej wants ignite to see the mounted ISO image as a depot and that should work.

why are you writing to dvds if you will make_depots this dvds.


just mount iso images to a temp dir ( like
mount /home/dvd1.iso /iso
make_depots -s /iso -d /your_ignite_dir

Sergej is trying to read the DVDs to make ISO images.

I did make_depots command as you mentioned ... but then it fails with error message something like "swcopy error ...". So i assumed that ISO images that i have created on windows machine aren't created in right format for HPUX ... any ideas how to be sure to make ISO images on Windows and made them in pleasant format for HPUX?

PS: I am on vacation and cannot write exact error message from swcopy error. Once i get home i will print it here ... but as i've said above ...i think it is related in "bad" ISO image cration ... ?!

Most likely. What software are you using to copy the DVD to the image?

What do you see when you look at the files on the mounted filesystem?

i am using Burn Aware 3.0 beta 9 to make iso images from DVDs.

I am able to see directories on mounted ISO filesystem.

How can i check if ISO is in right format on HPUX?

What output do you get when you do a "ll" on the filesystem?
Can you do a "swlist -s /path/iso-image"?
