cron not running

Hi,

In hpux 10.20 server,jobs scheduled in the crontab are not running.When checked the log it is giving below error

c queue max run limit reached Sun Jul 16 23:23:09 BST 2006
! rescheduling a cron job Sun Jul 16 23:23:09 BST 2006

When tried to stop and start cron,it gave me the below error

cron is already running Sun Jul 16 23:31:48 BST 2006
! ******* CRON ABORTED ******** Sun Jul 16 23:31:48 BST 2006

Let me know how to resolve this..?

Hi:

It would appear that you have exceeded the maximum number of jobs that 'cron' allows to run concurrently. The '/var/adm/cron/queuedefs' file defines these limits:

Thanks for ur quick reply.

queuedefs file has the below content

a.4j1n
b.2j2n90w

there is nothing defined for crontab.However the url says for all other queues excep the above max process is 100.Is this nubmer of process running in the server ..? or processes started by cron..?

If it is by cron,how to identify the jobs that are started by cron..?

Hi Shankar,
You have to edit /var/adm/cron/queuedefs file and add the following :
c.150j1n
in this because default value to max jobs is 100 for cron , for that you can see queuedfs man page. After this just restart you cron but insure. This will resolve this problem.
