How to activate cron process ?

You need to start with man cron.

cron runs as daemon and runs scheduled processes. You schedule process as follows.

crontab -e and put entries in cron table.
A user needs to have permission to run cron. Which is controlled by /var/adm/cron/cron.allow file.

cron is part of the startup scripts
Check that in /etc/rc.config.d/cron you have CRON=1

man cron

check also for cron.allow or cron.deny

hi

if you have edited a cronfile manually then

cron cronfile

this will activate it , to check what is activated

crontab -l

Then vi cronfile

Whne done: crontab cronfile
