Does anyone know what the following messages indicate:
ct_query failed. hw_path = 1/1/0
ct_query failed. hw_path = 7/0/0
They appeared during bootup. We had a failed root drive mirror and the messages did not appear again once the drive was replaced and the system rebooted. I am just curious what it might indicate.
System: V-2250 with EMC storage via McData director (A5158 HBAs). Server was patched in February.
Thanks,
David

Solution
ct_query is Common Transport protocol which is used with Fibre Channel.
For new installs, it indicates something wrong with the configuration, maybe a card not completely installed, etc.
You need to verify that you have the right software/patches installed http://www.software.hp.com/cgi- bin/swdepot_parser.cgi/cgi/displayProductInfo.pl? productNumber=A5158A&oper=install
(this link is for the A5158A product)
If you have Diagnostics installed you may also see errors there as well that state:
Possible Causes/Recommended Action:
The device has been misconfigured or is in an error state. More information may be available via the "ioscan" command.

Re: ct_query failed message during boot
I have also seen that error when you have a fibre card with either no fibre plugged in, or the switch not configured for that card.
Hope it Helps

Re: ct_query failed message during boot
Thanks. I can work with that and piece together what most likely caused it.
