Re: cygwin/xfree + HP CDE

How about running this from the Cygwin prompt:

xwin -query server_name

This will start a CDE session on the remote server
but display it on your PC.

Re: cygwin/xfree + HP CDE

It should work. I am on Winnt 4.0 and HP-UX 11.00. After "startx" I call "XWin.exe :1 -query hostname" without any problems. Take a look at Xfree/cygwin documentation...

Try XFce from http://www.xfce.org/en/help/help.html which is an easy transfer from CDE and run your client on Cygwin. Almost as good as reflection :) [ Well, not completely, but at least it's free ]

Re: cygwin/xfree + HP CDE

I am using X-manager
http://download.com.com/3302-2340-6128455.html

It works fine.
Install it,

start-->programs-->xmanager--->xmanager.

THis is give the list of unix servers using the xdmp broadcast.
select the server and login.

Thanks
