D370 to D390 Upgrade, are patches required

Are there any patches required on an upgrade from a D370 to a D390 running HPUX 10.20. I thought that there was one but I can't find it in my notes (maybe I was dreaming)

Those 'patches' will be in firmware; you merely need to insure that the latest firmware for the 390 is installed. It is also possible that your system will think that device paths have changed. If you have not added/moved devices since the last time the OS was installed, you shouldn't have any problems.

As far as I know you need not have any additional patches loaded PROVIDED your existing D370 is fully patched with the latest and greatest patch bundle. This included firmware and the latest version of diagnostics.

Hi Nancy

The major difference between these two boxes is that the CPU is like PA8200 in D390 and also the I/D cache is 2048 * 2048 KB . So essentially the Bios should eb able to take care of it , on the OS side theser should be no addtional patches required.

You were not dreaming. There is one patch necessary if your D390 has two CPUs: PHKL_12514
If you don't install this patch your system will not boot. But this patch is included in all HW critical bundles since April 1998.
