Re: daring question II

Generally, 30 hours a week. Every once in a while the damn job interferes, otherwise it would be 40 hours!

Re: daring question II

I spend my work day looking over the forums on-and-off, so probably spend anywehre between 2 - 5 hours every working day looking at posts and responding.

GMT+10 is a slow timezone for business hours though, especially over in the Linux forums.. ;)

Re: daring question II

Hi,

20-25 hours a week.
I'm also connected at work, so when I have free time I can learn more things about HP-UX, servers, ... English ;-)

I love this forum!

Kind regards,

Re: daring question II

IT an ongoing thing! Spare moment at work, perhaps an hour or so some evening bringing me somewhere into the 15-20 hours per week mark.

It's amazing how much you learn, not just reading other peoples solutions but even coming up with solutions yourself.

Re: daring question II

Hi there.
About 10 hours a week.
But i think, i saw some people, which must be connected through a neural interface, because if you check their times of postings and responds, it will cover all day.

Re: daring question II

It's feast or famine with me, it all depends on what projects are going on at work.
When I'm busy I just try to keep up w/ posts that catch my interest 1-2 hrs.
When I'm in between things I could spend the whole work day except when somebody rudely interupts me with a question.

Same thing at home, I try to check in each night before bed to see any posts that I may learn from (which is most of them).

Hi,

logging in at work in the morning and leaving in the evening (after 8 up to 10 hours).
Reading and writing in ITRC between 1 and 5 hours per day.
It depends on avialability of internet and quantity of papers at my desktop.

Great forum!!

Not enough compared to a month or so ago due to a new job role within the UKRC. Currently a couple of hours a week if I'm lucky ..... I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms and I'm only here today because I'm training over in France ;-)

Hi,
Normally throughout the day I will keep looking into forums and refreshing totalling 3 hrs per day which is 15-20 hrs a week. This is on a busy schedule.
If its free, then only forums and nothing else.

Re: daring question II

I spend 5-10 hours a week on the forum. There is sooo much information here that I consider it time well spent!

Re: daring question II

Very much depends. Between 2 and 5 hours a week.

For me a lot of the Forum related activities happen outside of the forum: my site (https://www.beepz.com/personal/merijn/ or http://www.cmve.net/~merijn/) and the statistics.

If you counts those in, well, uhhh, let's just say that I do not exercise `acitive waiting' :) when building gcc and such

1 to 2 hours a week.

I don't contribute much because the answers are usually already posted and I can't improve on them.

Good stuff.

Thanks to all of you.

Re: daring question II

I keep the forums up all day and refresh every fifteen to twenty minutes. I just make quick scans to see what I want to read and what I might be able to respond too. Unfortunately, with a 10yr old, 7yr old and 14 month old at home, I don't have time to scan the forums outside of work.
The forums keep me in check with how much I have to learn. Extremely helpful and at times very humurous. Thanks to everybody here!
