DAT24x6 API Commands
Hi,
I have to connect a DAT24x6 DDS-3 Autoloader to a Sun server ( I know, I know...). On my HP-9000s I've been through the process documented in document KBAN00000190 and I have no problem using the "mc" command on HP-UX. But Sun support has told me there is no equivalent command in Solaris.
Can anyone point me to documentation on the DAT24x6 autoloader that shows the low-level hardware commands that manipulate the picker in a DAT24x6 autoloader?
Thanks,
Tom

Re: DAT24x6 API Commands
Hi
If I am right this is a SCSI-2 library, perhaps this book can help you.
http://www.pearsonptg.com/book_detail/0,3771,0201175142,00.html
Another possibility, if your company uses OmniBack ther is a utility in omniback called "uma" which are similar to "mc". There is a Solaris version for this command too.

Re: DAT24x6 API Commands
Leif,
Thanks, but we're trying to avoid having to purchase something like OmniBack.
During further research last night, I did find this document: Doc Id lpg51069 ( HP SureStore DAT - Sun Workstation Configuration ). It seems to get me part way there. At least to getting the device drivers set up. I'll try that process this weekend. It refers to a "mtx" utility. I haven't found that in Solaris yet.
Thanks again,
Tom
p.s. The ITRC Search engine would not find document lpg51069 by seaching for "lpg51069". I found it by seaching for "DAT24x6".
