Desktop Messagin System could not be started

I changed the IP address on our hp9000 server (HP-UX 11) via SAM and restarted the system.
Now I get the error message 'Desktop Messaging System could not be started' when loging on to CDE.
What can I do?

TIA,
Wolfgang

Re: Desktop Messagin System could not be started

Double check name resolution is working using nslookup etc also are you using DNS ? If yes try using files first via /etc/nsswitch.conf ....any better ?

If no check /etc/hosts /etc/netconf etc in case there's a typo or an old copy of netconf.old lying around in /etc .. if yes move it to another dir.

Hi,

I agree with Alex. check your resolving:

nslookup `hostname`

Hope this will help,
