What I'm looking for is not the manual from docs.hp.com, but a more simplified one, or hightlights.

Hanry,

I can point you to specific links on docs.hp.com but apparently that is not what your'e looking for. Instead, I would suggest that you look into the book "HP-UX Virtual Partitions" by Marty Poniatwoski.

http://www.hp.com/hpbooks/prentice/ptr_0130352128.html

I recently purchased a "used" copy through amazon.com for under $25.00. The book is an excellent guide to all things partitioned.

Only highlight here, for details, check related manuals.

1. Partition planning
analyze the system to determine:number of partition to be created, number of cpu to be allocated, number of bound or unbound cpu, amount of memory to be allocated, i/o to be allocated

2. make partition plan bases on the above info

3. vPar installation

4. vPar create
for example:
vparcreate -p vpar1 -a cpu::3 -a cpu:::2:4 -a mem::2048 -a io:0/0 -a io:0/0/2/0.2.0:BOOT -B auto
