/dev/floppy/c1t6d0 showing up on a SEAGATE ST15150WD drive

I have floppys and rfloppys showing up on hard drives. These drives are Jamaicas. I believe it is either inheirent to the Jamaicas or a firmware upgrade issue. Opinions?

/dev/dsk/c1t3d0 /dev/floppy/c1t3d0 /dev/rdsk/c1t3d0 /dev/rfloppy/c1t3d0

Hi paul,

I don't think that /dev/floppy/c?t?d? is inheirent to jamaicas. I have a system without any jamaica disk and i see the same sort of ioscan output over there. I'm attaching the file for you to look at.

Any more opinions.

Thanks

Re: /dev/floppy/c1t6d0 showing up on a SEAGATE ST15150WD drive

This is normal. The explanation I have been given is this is because these drives are hot pluggable and therefore removable, HP uses the floppy driver. To the system these are very large floppy drives.

Hi Paul and Philip,

Just wanted you guys to know that the /dev/floppy/c?t?d? and the /dev/rfloppy/c?t?d? files are not there becuase these drivers are hot pluggable. If you get to see the attachment i had posted earlier u'll note that the dev/floppy and dev/rfloppy is there for all the disk drives. And none of them is a hot pluggable one.

Thanks all.
