/dev/urandom corrupted on 11.23

Question, what caused this corruption, and what's the latest patch for this?

It broke ssh, service guard, etc.

#: strings /dev/urandom
/dev/urandom: No such device

Re: /dev/urandom corrupted on 11.23

Am I correct in assuming that PHKL_31506 will fix it?

Re: /dev/urandom corrupted on 11.23

I see only the below in the patch info. No mention of corrupt or missing device files only some oddity of /stand no unmounting with the daemon running..?

PHKL_31506:
( SR:8606350838 CR:JAGaf11650 )
The "/stand" directory cannot be unmounted
when the kernel random number generator daemon
is loaded.

Re: /dev/urandom corrupted on 11.23

OK, so that's basically not an option.
Any other ideas on how to restore /dev/urandom?

Is on the core OS cd (DVD)?

Re: /dev/urandom corrupted on 11.23

You could attempt to recreate with mksf..

lsdev to find the major number for the rng and on all my systems the minor number is 0x000001

Otherwise the Random number software is on software.hp.com
