Iam have a hpux 11i server that has 1 interface (lan0) that came with the server itself, I added another interface (with 4 nic ports) I booted the box and did "lanscan" and this showed 5 interfaces on my system and then I was able to do
1. "dhcpclient -b lan0 -l10 -z 10 -x 3"
2. "ifconfig lan0 plumb"
3. "ifconfig lan0
where,
ipAddress - from /etc/dhcpclient.data
netMask - from /etc/dhcpclient.data
upto this everything is fine.
When I try to do the same stuff for "lan1"
step 1 fails with exit code 5. Iam attaching the output of the first step also.
Can someone help me.
Note: The line number 7 on the attched file has the errno 226.
Thanks
Soma

Re: DHCPCLIENT problem
My dhcpclient was doing DHCPDISCOVER and found no reply so it has failed. The reason why lan0 got the information while lan1 was not getting any, was because they were sitting in diffrent vlans. I fixed that and everything is working fine now.
The message "errno 226 indicates Addresss allready in use" is showing up while executing the command for both the interfaces, but aslong as everything work I dont care what that means.
Thanks guys,
Soma
