dhcpdb question

Silly question. Can anyone tell me what the first character in the dhcpdb file stands for? I believe there are three types; 'C', 'D', and 'R'. I'd like to know, as well, what is implied by the states that these characters may represent. Thanks!

Re: dhcpdb question

Might be better if you gave us a few lines of the file you want to know about. The fact that you haven't seen a reply yet indicates that we don't understand exactly what you are asking about. Are you sure this is hpux?

Re: dhcpdb question

Hi Eric,

dhcp.?
dhcpdb.bind, dhcpdb.relay, dhcpdb.pool ??

We need to know to which file do you refer?

Post a copy of the file in question - recommended you "sanitize" it first i.e. no hostnames - no IPs.

Rgds,
Jeff

Re: dhcpdb question

Yeah, Jeez, that wasn't terribly clear was it? Haste making waste. Please see the heavily sanitized example. To put a finer point on the question; I am concerned with the first character on each record. Thanks.

Re: dhcpdb question

Check out this doc KBRC00005998 on the ITRC

I think your referring to these fields:

The state is either "D" Declined
"C" Complete
"R" Released
