Diagnostics install question

We are installing our first batch of HPUX 11i v2 servers this weekend. During these installs we will need to mirror the operating system disks.

Now I've looked at various documents and they indicate how to populate the EFI on the mirrored disk and how to mirror the OS but I can't see any information on how to populate the s3 partition on the second disk which I believe contains offline diagnostics(?)

How do we populate this s3 partition (and what with)?

Cheers

Re: Diagnostics install question

Shalom,

If you have rx3660 or rx6660 they have hardware raid.

Configure it in bios like you would a DL380 server.

If its another model without hardware raid, say so and I'll give you a procedure.

Re: Diagnostics install question

Hi,

the procedure is to boot from the offline diag CD and run the installer from there.

Once it is installed, you may have a look at the 3rd partition from HP-UX using efi_ls, efi_cp etc.

But IMHO I would run the diags from a CD only if needed - so there is no need to install them. Doing this way you ensure to have a current version (fresh downloaded ISO) just in case of a problem.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
