What is the difference between HPUX 11.00 and 11.04?

How do you tell if 11.04 is installed?

you can find out what version is installed by typing:

uname -a

it will also give you your hostname, model number, and number of licenses.

From document #PLA399AAA38:

"HP Praesidium/VirtualVault 4.0 is targeted for production use as a trusted web server, providing a secure, trusted gateway applications. The VirtualVault Operating System (VVOS) Release 11.04 provides only the HP-UX 11.00 functionality required by the HP| Praesidium/VirtualVault 4.0 applications. VVOSS is not intended to support application development, nor is it a general purpose operating system."

# uname -r

...will disclose the OS release.

11.0 is the first 11.x general release and is followed by "followed" by 11.11 (a.k.a. 11i) and 11.20 (11i version 1.5).
