directories coming from no where.

The system is rx3600 and the os is hp-ux 11.23. I used golden image to rebuild a new system from an old system, and created all necessary directories, such as /, /stand, /usr, /var, /opt, /home, /tmp. Also, I have a couple of my own directories in the golden image, such as /oracle and /application, and they are set up during the building process. After installed, the bdf looks like:

But later on, when user went to a subdirectory of /application, they found several directories, such as home, dev, usr and all owned by root.

I checked the system of the golden image but don't see anything like that in it.

I still don't know where they come from. Maybe they are copied there accidentally by me, or they left from previous system.

Ignite just drop the golden image.

So check that subdirectories if there is no link to / for instance,

For instance go to
/application/...../usr
pwd -P
bdf .

Or it is a user error.

If you not created the directory by mistake then the folder comes from "No Where" sure.
