Disabling IPv4

Hi,

Is it possible to disable IPv4 stack from an HPUX 11.23 (IA or PA) machine?

I tried unplumbing all 'inet' interfaces, keeping only 'inet6' interfaces. But still 'lo0' is up with 127.0.0.1 address. Also 'netstat -rn' is showing loacl loopback routing information.

Is it possible to get rid of all IPv4 related configurations? If yes, how?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Disabling IPv4

Shalom,

I don't think so. Its part of core network functionality and ipv6 is whats optional.

Re: Disabling IPv4

You cannot get rid of lo0 - many of the HP-UX SD utilities (swinstall et al) require loopback networking to be there. What I've not been able to ascertain yet (asking contacts in the UX transport area) is whether or not it is possible to have an inet6-only lo0. I'm _guessing_ it is not presently possible.

To what end are you looking to disable IPv4?
