keystrokes not work properly
i hv HP D class server with HP-UX 10.20 installed in it. when i ping from my console to other server/PC by typing their ip with numeric pad keys, it does not ping, gives error. but when i use the same ip with normal numeric keys, it starts pinging.
the problem is suppose we hv to ping this ip i.e 10.96.36.33 and when i use numeric keypad and press enter, error comes "unknown host : 10.96.36.33#". i dont know where this # comes from.
Plz suggest.

Re: keystrokes not work properly
This may be your term or termcap file on the client.
It also may just be a bad keyboard.

Re: keystrokes not work properly
Try resetting the console on the D class and keyboard to their default settings
Hold down the D key while powering up the console.
If this does not work switch the console with another to see if the problem goes with the console, or stays with the system

Re: keystrokes not work properly
Here is a possible answer. I suspect that the ENTER key on your numeric keypad do not generate the appropriate keycode.
Try to enter the digits on the numeric keypad and the ENTER key on the normal (non-keypad) keyboard. If it works then you should modify the ENTER keypad key in your keyboard definition.
