Disk Array
Dear all,
I have a N-4000 here which has a disk array on it. I am trying to find out how it is configured. eg. how much disk space, how software is installed ... There are some directory related to it: /etc/hpC2400/* , /sbin/init.d/hparray ...
Could anyone give me some basic information on this so that I can start learning?
Thanks a lot!

Re: Disk Array
Some disk arrays offer software to help you with this.
If your not sure about what this may be, try calling the vendor and they can probably steer you in the direction of this.
If you don't have any such utilities....you may be into what I first faced.
I had to manually map out the array. You know vgdisplay everything, account for what was in use...than ioscan -fnC disk and figure what was left. It was a nightmare !!
Now I have the software....

Re: Disk Array
There are a couple of ways to look at the configuration of a 2400. The easiest way is through SAM. Go to
Disks and File Systems >> Disk Devices >> (select the disk array) >> Actions >> Disk Array Maintenance
This will allow you to do gross manipulation of LUNs, etc. A more refined method is to use gridmanager. To use gridmanager you must be connected over an RS232 port and have a gridmgr0/gridmgr1 login defined. Simply login as that ID, wiat for the login to complete, and hit CTRL-l (ell) to enter the gridmanager main screen.
If you have online diagnostics installed, you can also use [cmx]stm to duplicate much of gridmanger's capability.
