dns change

We are installing a new dsn server over the weekend and wanted to know if there's any other files that have to be changed besides /etc/resolv.conf to record the new dns ip address?

Re: dns change

I suppose the DNS runs on another server?

In this case you only need to modify /etc/resolv.conf

Re: dns change

If your system is going to be the DNS client of the new DNS server , then the corresponding change in the /etc/resolv.conf
is required. May be you can consider of adding an entry for an another nameserver with retrans or retry options if you are thinking redundant DNS server connectivity.
