I am going to upgrade the firmware to 11.23.0803 from 11.23.03, do I have to swremove first before swinstall the new version?

Solution
Do you talk about the driver software?
No need to de-install, just install the new version. The installer (swinstall) will handle the upgrade.
Firmware is a different story ...

Firmware on what ? IO/HBA, ILO/MP, CPUs ?

It is going to be HBA driver. As torsten sussged, I will just run swinstall
none
