Can you help me with some networking documentation e.g. how to add routes ip-forwarding etc...

In unix best documentation is man pages

see the ma pages of

lanscan
lanadmin
ifconfig
netstat
ndd

Have you tried to http://docs.hp.com?

To check/set/unset ip forwarding see "ndd" man pages.
You can also check "route" man pages.

adding routes:

route add

see man route

To see current routing table:
netsat -rn
