Well, the subjects sais it all. I can easily create a process that does something like it, but I can find almost nothing about /dev/random and /dev/urandom specifications
BTW If you create a named pipe /dev/urandom, Samba will inhibit all access! (Try out how long it takes your SA to solve that) [ Yes, Alexander, that was what caused it ]

Re: Does HP have plans to implement /dev/random?
Ain't there yet. Plans are to create a /dev/random interface in the next release.

Re: Does HP have plans to implement /dev/random?
On the one hand I wanted to give Bill 10 points, because it is exactly what I asked. On the other hand I want to give HP^WBill no points because it's not what I want to read - obviously.
Bill, you'll get 10 if you can tell me if that next release is 11i and up only, or 11.00 too, and what the time scale for the plans is :)

Solution
Another answer that won't make you happy: the next release is (tentatively) to be known as 11.23 and as always the date is "real soon now" which is sometime in the future. 11i is getting mature (it certainly isn't new) since it's introduction in Dec 2001. Backporting to 11i and 11.0 is likely to be driven by customer demand.
