Hi all,
We have a TCB cluster running HP11.00. We use rdist to ensure all tcb files are the same on all machines.
We wish to add a 10.20 ( and later 11i ) system to our rdist system.
Are the tcb files the same accross each HPUX Version ??
Thanks, Isaac.

Re: Does TCB across different HPUX versions
Hi,
Though it can be done, it is unsupported by HP.
My usual procedure is to tar up /tcb directory along with /etc/passwd and /etc/group and untar it on the other system. I would also keep a small script that contains customized options using 'modprdef' command. Once I untar tcb, passwd and group files, I uncovert the system, convert it back and then run the modprdef script to restore the customization. This way there will be no hiccups.

You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try
