In all of my years as sys admin in mixed environments, I haven't heard of Sysadmin Day before! I suppose you have to be a sys admin in an the HP environment to find out about it, as you're the only ones who know how to have a good time! Happy SysAdmin Day to all! FIFTH Annual? And, now that I missed it, going on the SIXTH Annual Sysadmin Day?

Where the heck were the wine, roses, Ferraris, plasma TVs, and so forth for my last four "special days"? I guess that explains why I didn't get anything on this one either.

OK, fine, but now I know about them. And I have control of the MOTD, the login banner, the legal disclaimer that pops up with each logout/login, and cron (wall works in cron, right?) And let's not forget our friend sendmail...

So, next year, we'll see about that plasma TV (but I'll settle for lunch, naturally, like all the rest of youse).
