Re: Double Olympian

Clay,

Congratulations!

It's really a large accomplishment. It must say alot about the stability of your environment to have so much time to devote here. (The sysadmin who has his feet up on the desk is the good sysadmin.) I know you have helped, many, many, many people out. (Even if it was just to show them the error of their ways...)

I would also be interested in seeing who will be at HP World... Maybe a different thread?

Re: Double Olympian

Well done Clay!

I think of the many people you have helped here and the mind boggles.

The 'caljd' date hammer springs to mind as well as dealing with consultants .... (some well shared comedy in THAT post!)

I hope you continue to contribute to this forum, I for one really appreciate it a lot.

Congratulations Sir!

Cheers

Re: Double Olympian

Clay -
That is a real accomplishment in helping your peers! I will enjoy reading your replies for some time to come, respect your professionalism and expertise.
Patrick, please honor my request of "no points for me" here!
I prefer chasing the rainbow with replies of technical value, but could not resist this milestone.

Re: Double Olympian

I am truly in awe of such an accomplishment.

Congrats and keep it up. Another 10,000 might mean a new hat.

Re: Double Olympian

Clay,

Always insightful, concise, witty, glib, humorous, courteous, and "spot on", you are *the* shining example of what the Forums are all about. I know that you prefer self satisfaction in helping others far more than the trivial trappings of another hat or award, but I truly believe that you're going to have to give in to the communtity's wishes and accept the accolades (and hopefully the new hat as soon as Dan and crew come up with something appropriate enough for someone of your stature) of your devoted minions.

Well done, Sir!

Pete

P.S. I certainly hope to see you in Atlanta. You will be there, won't you?

Re: Double Olympian

Congratulations Clay!

Your knowledge of HP hardware and software is incredible. Your sense of
humor is wonderful. Your hubris makes me your hero. [For those of you that
are wondering, the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of the word hubris
is "exaggerated pride or self-confidence" see http://www.m-w.com ]. But I
don't think it is exaggerated, as I always say, "It ain't bragging if you can
do it."

Your response to the so called 'electrical engineer' that was giving bad advice
to the guy about the UPS still ranks as my favorite ITRC thread of all time. When
I am having a tough day and I need a laugh, I just pull up that thread and read it.

I've always thought Jed Clampett would have made a fantastic Unix sys admin, and even
though I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Clay yet, I picture him as Jed Clampett with
an advanced degree in Nuclear Physics and tons of Unix knowledge. My hero.

JP

P.S. Here is the link to my favorite post of all time. Sometimes this forum is good
and sometimes it is bad, but this is about as good as it gets! :)

P.P.S. Many recent discussions about more hats for higher levels - 50,000 points, 100,000
points, etc. I think that once they reach 50K points they should let them draw their own
damned hats. They've earned it!

Re: Double Olympian

Wow....just wow. You are a giant among men (and women) Clay, congrats.
HP needs to come up with a 40000 point hat, or at least give you the other half of that salad. Maybe a wreath or something?
And to think, all those points without having to take the sensitivity training class. (that post still kills me EVERY time i read it).

Best wishes... Jim
